A Peek At My Shoe Collection: High Heels

What elevates a lady’s mood and her height? High heels. Today, I’m giving you a peak into some of the beauties in my closet.

I am a huge fan of shoes. Most often when I’m in a store I stay away from the shoe department because it’s just too tempting. But I love the ones I have. I’ve decided to pull out some of my heels today to share with you all. This will be the first part of a series, and I’m really looking forward to it. Without further ado.

These are one of my favorites. I remember my heart skipping a beat when I first saw them.

Check out the bow!

These tan ankle strap heels are my ultimate essential for a night of dancing or a day of work. They match almost everything and they are super comfortable. The heel is midsized so I still feel dressed up when wearing them.

Tip: Having an ankle strap, even a thin one, is so beneficial for creating comfort and stability, particularly when you’ll be on your feet for a while.

Would I sound crazy if I said that these heels are fairly versatile? Skinny ankle jeans or a knee length black sheath dress both go equally well with these beauties.

Nothing like a nice heel to give those calves a bit of edge. And nothing like snakeskin pattern to give your outfit a bit of edge.

Neutral pumps with a bit of jewelry is the perfect balance. Business in the front; party in the back.

I’m a sucker for details.

I could make out with these shoes. Beautiful and comfortable beyond imagination. Funny story: Me and two friends were running from one pub to another to catch a better scene for the big boxing match we were watching. Halfway there, one of my shoes broke while running across a street…

It was almost 10pm, just minutes from closing time, when we ran into a store in search of a replacement pair of shoes. Me and two guys flying through the shoe section in search of a good pair that fit. Besides a boring black pair, these were the only ones that matched the outfit I was wearing (Black parent leather pants and a sheer black button down). And since these were over my budget, my friend bought them for me as a gift! So now they are extra special.

I love zipping them up.

Here are my coral colored heels. The color and suede texture is such a pretty combination. I’m a shorty and I love a pair of sky high platform heels. Platforms have got to be one of the best things that’s happened to heels.

Here’s another pair of beige platform heels. I like that the heels are thinner, which adds elegance. I also like the cool mod detail that elevates these otherwise plain pumps.

These are my stunner heels.

I’m a sucker for a bow.

These are the party version of the little beige heel. Anytime I wear them I feel like a bohemian million bucks.

Yes, it’s got a couple of strings that need clipping, but these are one of my favorite shoes. Sky high wedges are a girl’s best friend. They are a gift from the high heel gods. A thin little white sundress and I’m good to go.

Here’s another pair that made my heart pitter patter. Secret: I’ve actually got them in two colors. You’ll see her sister in the next set of heels. Comfortable, study, unexpected with a pair of dark denim jeans.

Not only is the pattern interesting, the texture reminds me of a really cool grandma.

Well folks, that’s today’s showcase. For me, shoes are a work of art. It’s amazing how many variations there have been over the centuries and the infinite designs that await us for the future.

What do you think? Any favorites among this group of beauties? Are you a shoe lover? Which styles do you most prefer?

  1. Oh MY! What a fabulous collection Lyz. My fav’s are the first ones: black with flowers. Wow! And so to FULLY express my approval of your heels, I give you Kirsty MacColl. This song is perfect for you… πŸ˜‰ ❀

  2. That first pair!! I love ankle boots, floral patterns and bows, so these tick everything. They’re gorgeous!! You have so many heels, I love how different they all are and that they all carry a story πŸ˜€
I barely have heels now since I spend all day crawling around with little ones. Seems impractical πŸ˜‚

  3. Stunner alert… my heart beat fast with the first number itself! How gorgeous is it and the bow caps it. Btw all of those shoes are pretty. Feminine. The one with the rivets is badass πŸ˜‰

Ooh the heels, I am proud of ya sista! I just threw a lot of stilettos because I no longer enjoy dancing in them. The last was two years ago and the calluses convinced me to the fact that I can let go of them. It was heartbreaking to let go of a pair of blush satin heels.

    1. I love those rivets! I don’t know, I’m pretty sure I dance much better in heels for Latin or Haitian music. Helps with the spinning and overall va-va-voom of it all. Of course, calluses are not at all sexy, so you keep this flats on and the callouses gone. ☺

      1. Well I have got shorter heels for nights out in town πŸ˜‰ Which reminds that I have not pulled an all-night-out kinda stunt in some time now. Possibly a year!

Heels are amazing for dancing… The moves flow and swaying sexily comes easy. All for va va voom! xx

        1. I’m definitely not the walking like a dinosaur in terribly high uncomfortable shoes kind of gal either. Comfort, even in heels, is number one. It’s all in the arch for me.
All nighters sound both thrilling and miserable to me now. Transitioning into adulthood like 😬and πŸ˜€. Here’s to cozy nights on the couch.

          1. Dinosaur. Ahahaha. Would that be like a brontosaurus? πŸ˜› The arch is the deal! Yeah cozy nights on the couch is Always a winner. I will drink to that as I dig into my bag of veggie straws and put protein into the system. xx

  4. I own one pair of heels, but I never wear them. Mainly because my style is very casual, so I usually just wear my Converse sneakers or flip flops. However, I see you rocking that casual Star Wars outfit, and the heels actually go well with it. I wouldn’t have thought. Those blue heels are pretty snazzy, and I’m especially in love with the first pair of heels with the flowers on them.

    1. I hear you. Living in Florida I’m all about sandals and let’s jyst say my Converse has seen better days, but I love them eternally. I couldn’t imagine one pair! My style bounces all over the place, pretty quirky. The outfits I love the most teens to be tossing things together, like the Star Wars outfit. Thanks so much for commenting Britney. Have yourself a casual Sunday. πŸ™„

  5. *sighs* Shoe Fix.! Bliss πŸ™‚ I’m in love with the first heels. Those beautiful black zip-up’s are perfect. I used to own a patent black pair with silver studs across the heels. I loved them so much, I wore them down. 😦 I never found another pair.

Love your fashion series. Looking forward to the next shoe fix.

    1. Hey Lex, I’m happy to help you get that shoe fix. Let’s spread shoe love; it makes the world a better place πŸ™„ I know it sucks when a favorite pair gets worn down to nothing and you have to let them go. I hope one day you’re in a thrift store and find them in your size!
