Outfit Post: Jeans and a Tee

I’m normally found in a sundress on the weekends, but when the South Florida heat starts turning down a notch, it’s time to pull out my jeans again.

This is a really casual outfit that I wear for running around town, doing stuff with the kids, or going out for a walk in nature as I was doing this past Saturday.

Can you spot the rain drops falling?

One of my favorite things about these jeans is the stretch. I’ve owned them for years and they’ve seen me through many fluctuations in my weight. They’ve been tighter than this and looser, but they always manage to look good. They also kind of act as my scale. Do any of you use clothes to monitor your weight?

I love the fact that there’s no gap in the space where my back leads to my butt, so a belt or alterations isn’t necessary. Some of you ladies know the struggle I’m referring to.

I like to keep the bottoms rolled up on these pair as I find the length more flattering that way.

Getting rained on or just watering the flowers?

I love my Star Wars tee shirt for a few reasons. I love Star Wars. It’s really lightweight. It’s black, but it’s got lots of color as well, which means that I can be basic without being basic. In other words, it’s low-key interesting.

The gang is all here.

I told a friend of mine recently that I’ll still be wearing this tee when I’m 80 years old, and I mean it.

I’ve got 3 pairs of All Stars and this is my one love pair. Is it somewhat juvenile? Yes. Do I care? No. Also, Converse are so extraordinarily comfortable thatย I walked around the park for hours in the rain and my feet never hurt me. It’d be a shame for someone not to own at least one pair. And what an investment. I don’t want to be a part of any future that doesn’t include Converse All Stars. They are cool regardless of age or decade. Long may they live.

I walked around that park for hours in the rain and my feet hurting were never a problem

Remember that being comfortable doesn’t have to mean being lame. Just adding little interesting details like a tee shirt that says something about who you are or what you’re into can make a big difference. And above all, make sure that your jeans are working hard for you.

What’s your go to casual outfit?

Jeans: Papaya Jeans

Tee Shirt: Star Wars

Sneakers: Converse All Stars

  1. You’re just rubbing it in that you still have warm weather while I’m switching to long-sleeves ๐Ÿ˜› haha

    1. Hahaha, I promise I was not thinking that! I keep forgetting that it’s cold everywhere around us. It’s just so weird to me…. I don’t think I’m helping am I? Lol. My friend Pamela is in 38 degree weather. Disgusting.

You liked that line, huh? I didn’t see it as anything special until you pointed it out. I like that line. I think the sound echoes the sense, which is one of my favorite things.

My go to casual outfit? I am a former collegiate, pro, and semi-pro soccer player (goalkeeper) with deep Franco-German family heritage so… I am ALL ADIDAS bigtime, with Adilette flip-flops or slides, Adidas shorts and top, and an Adidas cap in summertime, or a black Adidas oversized knit beret with small logo in winter. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

My daughter says “You are such a Johnny Bravo soccer dad, Dad!” Hahaha! ๐Ÿ˜›

    1. I remember now you mentioning your love of all things Adidas. It’s definitely a look that I’ve got nostalgic love for. I’ve been meaning to get the classic sneakers for a while but never got to it. I can picture your daughter saying those words. Adidas is gangsta. Pleated khakis are not. Don’t lose heart Johnny Bravo’s dad ๐Ÿ˜‰ It doesn’t matter what I do, my son thinks I’m dorky and mostly embarrassing. Poor kid.

  3. Love the photos and the fact that the jeans have seen you through the years. The waistband of my jeans are the best way I can tell the extra pounds. I do not even own a weighing scale.

Also, I will check on you when you are 80 ๐Ÿ˜‰ xx

    1. Hey Lee, I’m happy to hear you liked it. Believe me, some days you’ve gotta fake it till you make it. And youll get there Sometimes the doing is the only thing that helps gets the nerves down. There are days that I’ve got to fight my inclination to want perfection, believe me, and days I don’t feel such confidence. But I get such encouragement and positivity from you awesome people and that’s helped me to be more free. You better represent for the natural chicks!
