Here it is, ladies! The time of the month you’ve actually been waiting for. These are some of my favorite Instagram fashions from the month of February. I’m currently working on incorporating some of the style elements from last month, and you’ll be seeing some of those outfits trickle in here on the blog and on my Instagram page. You’ll recall that one of my favorite looks last month was sequins in the daytime; well, I had fun coming up with my own version.
This month, I think you’ll notice a hippie influence. I wasn’t setting out for that to happen, but I’ve got to follow my gut and the flowy ruffle of a pretty dress. Without further ado.
Monochrome does not mean monotone, as Carla proves here. This look just says, “I’m dripping with money” without trying very hard. Monochrome has a way of making a look feel more expensive and I want in.
If you aren’t ready to strip out of whatever you’re wearing and put this on then there’s something seriously wrong with you. Ten months from now you’ll be meeting our love-child. This dress looks innocent, but it’s a real bad girl, and I mean that in the best way. Can I get pregnant twice in one night? Just asking for a friend.
Someone is trying to kill me. Why else would they put shoes so beautiful in my sight? Et tu, shoes? Et tu?
First off, any pants with pockets and a tie at the waist, anything in mustard yellow and lightweight, anything fitted with stretch, anything dress up or dress down, anything with a kickass classic and modern color combination, is all right with me.
So, I love velvet, like, I really do. And I love lingerie. This beauty is sturdy enough for everyday wear (who uses the word ‘sturdy’ to describe lingerie?) casual enough for comfort and sexy enough to make ’em stand up and pay attention. Plus, I think I’d be sneaking in rubs of myself all day, and that sounds like a real good time; I should know.
I think this is a sure sign that by the next full moon I will have transformed into a full-blown hippie. I can imagine the luxury of big cotton panties and the swish of the fabric against my butt as I scour the lanes of antiques fairs and farmer’s markets.
I’m totally crushing on @fenellafox for her endlessly open and beautiful journey to spreading the message of body positivity. Even after deciding to grow out her armpit hair, she was embarrassed to show it in her photos until she said enough. Her images include stretch marks, cellulite, thickness and hair and she does it in gorgeous lingerie and pretty undergarments. Oh, and her captions are always inspiring.
So pleated trousers are back. I remember when we made them the laughing stock of our closets and banished them to the land of never to return. But now they’re baaaaack, and better than ever, or as good as ever. To be honest, the only time that pleated trousers weren’t good was circa the 90s. Most things weren’t good circa the 90s, take it from me kids. I lived it. Nostalgia makes everything better. And speaking of nostalgia.
Retro. Geeky. Sexy. Have 3 adjectives ever loved each other more? Okay, okay, every relationship is different. This one is so cute together, isn’t it? I’m ready to go cut up all my knitted turtlenecks and get my cool on. It’s not like Florida needs full length sweaters anyway. I can’t wait to recreate this style!
Damn Christy Dawn and their murderous ways. Someone is trying to kill me Exhibit B. I mean for crying out freaking loud and howling at the moon, how can something be so perfect? Look at it! This company has such great ethics in addition to making great garments. You should look into what makes them special. As a bonus, I emailed them recently to tell them how much I loved their clothes, how I appreciate their value for people and the environment and how they might be even better if they showed a bit more diversity in their marketing. I received a heartfelt email from a company spokesperson stating that they will take my words to heart and strive to do better. I really felt that it was genuine and I can’t wait to see what they come up with. I like to think the best. I think it’s also important for us to encourage and praise companies that we see striving to make positive changes.
I would walk around on my vacation like I legit owned everything. I’d take a stroll around the pool like I owned it. I’d sit at the bar like I owned it. I’d stare at the sunset like I owned it.
I typically don’t like shoes that has criss cross lacing. They always seem to break up the line of the leg and hog up too much attention. Look at me, look at me, I criss cross! So obnoxious. But this pair I love. Maybe it’s the way that the laces are positioned that gives it subtlety. Idk what the fuck I’m saying, I just love the darn shoes. Get off my back, please!
Which look did you find the most interesting?
And if you dig my style, why not give me a follow on Instagram? I’d make me oodles of happy!
