Because I like to be a bit innovative with this blog, I decided recently as a tribute to awards season, to create my own first annual IWANNABEALADY Awards!
First, I produced the awards. You’ll see how soon enough.
Then I asked my Instagram followers to head over to my stories and vote on 3 categories:
Best Drama
* The Taking of Pluto *
* Absinthe and Sundays
*Dickens and Doestoevsky
Best Comedy
* The Spitfire of Spokane
* For the Love of Texting
* The Programmer’s Daughter
Best Documentary
* Lassitude
* The Secret Lives of Bibliophiles
*Into the Core
* All movie titles are created by me, Lyz-Stephanie.
Then I grabbed my pen and like a cavewoman wrote down the votes as they came in.
It looked like this on my end. I quite liked the look of it.
And the winners were…
Best Drama: The Taking of Pluto
Best Comedy: The Programmer’s Daughter
Best Documentary: (a tie!) The Secret Lives of Bibliophiles and Into the Core*
*Cast your vote down in the comments if you’re like me and CAN’T STAND FOR A TIE.
I’d like to give a special shout out to Quetsy at quetsy.com and Pamela at Starring Pamela for throwing their votes into the hat and for their enthusiastic support. Let us know if your favorites won.
It’d be great to bring more of my blogging and Instagram family together, so if you haven’t followed yet, here’s your personal invitation.
I’ll be coming on Instagram Live tonight at 6:30pm to share some cool, interesting, disturbing and surprising bits of women’s history. If you haven’t ordered your copy of America’s Women: 400 Years of Dolls, Drudges, Helpmates and Heroines, now would be a great time. (Affiliate link)

Haha, that was one of my favorites. I love the grumpy old Englishwoman character; she’s so much fun to play.
