About

Hey there. You’re obviously wondering who I am and why I write. Here goes the short and sweet of it.

My name is Lyz-Stephanie and I’m on a journey to inspire women (myself included) to be more connected with ourselves and the natural world, to find beauty in simple pleasures, and to live more interesting, adventurous and passionate lives.

Why? Because I’ve been there. I’ve talked about my passions and did nothing about them; I let my talents waste away; I stayed in environments that didn’t help me grow; I let fear stop me. I fell hard into womanhood. Thankfully I have a sense of humor.

Maybe you bought what they told you to buy; you got the job they told you to get. And who you are and what you love have taken a backseat to the daily grind. Maybe you aren’t young and wild and free of children and a mortgage, but you’d love to feel more alive, more connected. You’re ready to step out of the fog. You just need some encouragement, inspiration, practical ideas and advice to move you along. We all do.

We can all be the woman that we admire. All around us are lessons to show us the way. I seek them out and share them here in Modern-Day Fables which are always insightful, often hilarious.

I believe in the power of beautIMG_8462y and nature (Add More Beauty) taking chances (Try More) and expanding our minds (Know More). I’m shaking up my life and moving always toward my dreams, and I’d love to inspire you to do the same.

You can expect pretty things, lessons, adventures and laughs. I’m on the journey. Will you join me?

Lyz-Stephanie is a writer, blogger, mom and all around creative. She’s a native of beautiful Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

  1. Hahahahaha! This cracked me up Iwannabealady — who is now STUNNING! — and please, never never lose that sense of humor! It is life’s best medicine, ointment, and highly contagious! Beware! 😛 😉

        1. Al us Quasimodo sorts must come down from the bell tower to reek havoc on the freshly shaven and freshly pressed. I love Bohemian-Hedonistic, btw. May I use that in future descriptions of myself?

    1. Lisa, you just made my night in saying that. Thank you so much for the beautiful compliment. I am to please 😊 I’m grateful to have you here and I’ll check you out as well!

  2. So nice to meet you. I need more positivity in my life. I am an optimist, a realist AND a dreamer. In a word… confused. Lol! But I want to cultivate more positive friendships and challenge each other.

    1. I totally get it. It can be tough to be a dreamer and idealist when it feels like everyone is getting ahead by going with the flow. Definitely having others who keep us positive and help us work through our fears is so beneficial. It’s great to meet you as well, Debra. 😊
